Meet our President & Founder

Dan Soltesz

With nearly two decades of experience in Pennsylvania politics, Dan Soltesz brings a wealth of expertise in government relations, advocacy, and strategic funding. As the founder of Novus Strategies, he is committed to helping municipalities, nonprofits, and organizations navigate government processes, secure essential funding, and build strong advocacy strategies.

Dan's background includes serving in key roles within the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives, where he developed a deep understanding of legislative processes and policymaking. Additionally, his tenure on the Pleasant Hills Borough Council—including serving multiple terms as both President and Vice President—equipped him with firsthand experience in municipal governance, budgeting, and infrastructure planning.

A lifelong resident of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Saint Vincent College. His dedication to civic leadership is further demonstrated by his participation in the Coro Center for Civic Leadership and the Local Government Academy.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dan remains actively involved in his community. He currently serves as Vice President and a firefighter with the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company, reflecting his strong commitment to public service. He is also a member of the Big Impact Group at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh and a board member of Get Involved!, Inc., an organization dedicated to community engagement and leadership development. Additionally, Dan serves as a board member of the Mon Yough Chamber of Commerce, supporting local businesses and economic growth in the region.

Dan’s extensive experience in grant writing, strategic planning, and legislative advocacy has enabled him to successfully secure funding for critical projects and initiatives. His ability to foster partnerships, navigate complex regulatory environments, and develop impactful funding strategies has made him a trusted resource for municipalities, nonprofits, and businesses seeking to achieve their goals through government engagement and financial support.
